About this project
Private MD Amy is the practice site for Dr. Amy Witman, a board-certified internal medicine physician offering concierge medicine in San Diego. I rebuilt the site from the ground up, replacing an Elementor page-builder installation with a fully custom hand-coded WordPress theme. The rebuild eliminated all page-builder dependencies, reducing HTTP requests from 80-120 down to 20-35, cutting page weight below 1MB, and improving Google PageSpeed scores from 30-55 up to 75-95 on mobile.
Every page was rebuilt with semantic HTML, a consistent design system using CSS custom properties, and full WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility compliance. The site now runs with zero page-builder plugins, making it faster to maintain, cheaper to operate, and more secure long-term.
