This was Mike's last trip out to the desert with us. We climbed up to this ridge above camp and stood looking out over the badlands together: the kind of quiet, unhurried moment that's the whole reason for coming out here in the first place.

Mike loved these trips as much as any of us did, and he's missed out here, and everywhere else. This one's for him.
